1. Core Pricing Principle
Plastic box pricing mainly consists of four parts: material cost, processing cost, production wastage and mold amortization. The final unit price is determined by the unfolded sheet size instead of outer box dimensions.
Unit Price = Material Cost + Process Cost + Wastage Allocation + Mold
Cost Allocation + Labor & Packing Fee
2. Standard Unfolded Area Formula
Unfolded Width = Width×2 + Height×2 + Gluing Margin (1.5~3cm)
Unfolded Length = Box Length + Edge Margin
Single Area(㎡) = Unfolded Length × Unfolded Width ÷ 10000
3. Cost Component Breakdown
Material Cost: Calculated by sheet area, material grade and thickness, with 8%~15% production wastage included. PET > PVC > PP in material cost.
Process Surcharge: Color printing, UV coating, reverse UV, hot stamping, embossing and special shaping will increase unit cost.
Mold & Die Cost: New custom shapes require die cost, amortized by order quantity.
Labor & Overhead: Includes gluing, quality inspection, packing and management fees.
4. Key Factors Affecting Prices
Material type, sheet thickness, printing & finishing complexity, order quantity and custom mold requirements directly determine the final plastic box cost. Large orders enjoy lower unit price with averaged mold and wastage cost.
